Becoming: A Prayer to Mother Earth

This is a time where everyone in the world is being pushed to examine themselves as we decide whether or not to welcome the process of transformation. I see transformation as creative destruction — shedding old beliefs that no longer serve us, shifting our perspectives on past events as well as what they mean to us and stepping into the beautiful light of the unknown — where we create our new realities.

Mother Earth,

Gaia,

Grant me the feel,

Of a foundation,
As yours.

Balance the wind,

And the sky,

And the ocean,

The forest –

Grant me the stillness I need,

To restore.

Those places ripped open,

Abandoned,

Concealed,

With scorn,

Were fertile for power,

Uncharted,

Unknown.

I searched up and down,

Kept the pace,

Though I was running in circles:

The limits of self were defined by the world.

But beauty in darkness,

Has shown me the way to rebirth,

The road travels longer,

Each time that I bend.

So I’ll keep the faith when I push past unknowns,

Giving thanks,

For the moments,

I thought were my end.
